Health and Safety Policy
It is the policy to protect the Environment, Health and Safety of our employees, and others (including visitors, contractors and the public) that may be affected by its operations.As stated in its policy Statement and in consonance with the Labour Act 2003, Act 651, Factories Offices and Shops Act 1970, Act 328, and Environmental Protection Agency Act 1994, Act 490, everybody has a responsibility to protect the Environment, their Health and Safety when carrying out any activity.Health, Safety and Environment (OHSSE) performance are core values of the company and are managed as an integral part of its business to benefit employees, customers, neighbours and shareholders.
All BOST employees are responsible for ensuring that it achieves continuous and measurable improvement.
Management has committed itself to:
1. Provision of Resources
The necessary and adequate resources, knowledge and training are provided to ensure healthy and safe working environment and efficient OHSSE performance;
2. Risk Management and Impact Mitigation
Proactive measures are developed to ensure that all hazards and aspects relating to our activities are identified and their associated risks and impacts managed and mitigated appropriately;
3. Personal Management of OHSSE
Workforce are engaged to ensure that personal OHSSE accountabilities are clearly defined and understood to enhance a safe working environment;
4. Compliance to Legal and Other Requirements
All applicable regulations, legal instruments and other requirements relative to OHSSE are complied with;
5. Setting and Reviewing OHSSE objectives and targets
The policy shall provide the framework for setting and reviewing OHSSE objectives and targets for all departments of BOST;
6. Continual Learning and Improvement
This policy will be audited and reviewed every two years and /or as deemed necessary to ensure continual improvement in OHSSE performance;
The Board and Management have the shared responsibility to establish, implement and maintain an OHSSE Management System consistent with the entire scope of its operation as defined in the OHSSE.
Our goals is Zero Accidents at our Facilities (if possible)
In view of this, all visitors entering our depots must of necessity go through the guidelines given below.
- A visitor must always be accompanied by a host
- Smoking is prohibited
- All mobile phones must be switched off
- Visitors are to observe all safety notices and signs
- Safety helmets must be worn
- Any injury must be reported to host for first aid
- Consumption of food and drink are permitted at designated canteens or within the office block
- A BOST Safety Officer will assist visitors to know the location of the assembly point, manual call points and how to operate them in the event of a fire.
- Our Depots are equipped with CCTV cameras
- In the event of any emergency, visitors should stay calm and follow instructions.
